As a QA Engineer in the Home Theater Product Development group, you will test and evaluate software and other materials that integrate Dolby technologies in home entertainment products (such as audio/video receivers, Blu-ray Disc players, or soundbars). In this position, you will create and maintain QA test environments, develop test strategies, and work closely with other engineers, product management, and marketing to ensure high quality licensing deliverables and products. You will also participate with prototyping home entertainment products that incorporate Dolby technologies and you will stay abreast of the latest technology by interfacing with licensees and by seeking out relevant information from other sources such as industry whitepapers, data sheets, etc.

Responsibilities:
- Develop understanding of home entertainment product architectures
- Conduct project scoping and planning which includes collaboration with research, marketing, and development teams, development of test design and strategies, definition of resource and budget requirements, reporting of metrics, and ownership of the test plan.
- Work independently for project planning, resource estimation, task breakdowns, test progress tracking, and coach and develop junior engineers.
- Maintain and test home entertainment product development materials. These materials include:
- Technical documentation supporting integration of Dolby technologies in products
- * Requirements for products integrating Dolby technologies based on thorough understanding of their use cases
- Test procedures and test signals conforming to product requirements for compliance verification of Dolby technologies
- Wrapper, middleware, or integration code that will facilitate the adoption of Dolby technologies
- Develop and test product prototypes to better understand how Dolby technologies are used in home entertainment products and how they interact with other technologies.
- Design, set up, configure and maintain software testing labs and environments.
- Utilize and adapt existing test automation tools.
- Report issues through a formal bug tracking system and work with other engineers to help isolate, debug, and resolve issues and bugs.
- Anticipate and mitigate test and project issues.
- Serve as a member of project core teams.

Qualifications:
- BS/MS in EE or CS (or equivalent)
- Minimum 4 years of experience in software testing or development, including designing and implementing complex test plans and test cases.
- Excellent knowledge of and experience with current software testing industry tools and best practices.
- Demonstrated skills in multiple test design techniques.
- Professional experience programming in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Batch, and/or Bash. Proficiency in C/C++ programming.
- Familiarity with standard bug reporting tools such as Jira, Bugzilla, or ClearQuest.
- Proven experience testing in multiple software environments like Windows, Linux, Android, etc.
- Ability to achieve results, meet deadlines, and adjust to quickly changing priorities in a fast-paced engineering environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication, time management and organizational skills, and a thorough approach to problem solving.
- Demonstrated experience or familiarity with Dolby technologies or products is a significant plus.
