Responsibilities:
At Dolby Australia we’re currently seeking applications from outstanding candidates for the role of Sr. Software Engineer to join our E-Media Technology team.
The successful candidate will start by working on the design, implementation and maintenance of a cross-platform transcoding tool implemented in C and C++. The tool enables the creation of high quality audio and video streams for online media distribution.
Along with passion and razor-sharp technical skills you will be highly motivated and be an aggressive, persistent problem-solver.

Key requirements:
- Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering;
- 3+ years’ experience in C++ programming and the C++ STL;
- A track record of successfully shipping commercial software products;
- Experience with cross-platform development on Windows, Linux and/or OS X;
- Object oriented software design skills;
- Proven ability to rapidly and independently learn and understand new technologies;
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English.
Highly regarded attributes:
- Experience with Python;
- An understanding of digital signal processing;
- Knowledge of audio and video codecs such as AAC, MP3 or H.264;
- Critical listening skills and/or audio/music/video related experience.
- Experience understanding and implementing technology standards published by bodies such as ISO and MPEG.
