Dolby Australia continues to grow in 2013 with the opening of several key engineering positions; for this position, we invite applications from outstanding candidates for the role of Staff Software Engineer within the Service Provider and Network Engineering team.
Responsibilities:
his role involves the design, development and maintenance of key voice technologies and components in Dolby’s world leading voice products. Your areas of work are expected to include NAT/firewall traversal, peer-to-peer networking, real time transport, network security, server scaling, system fault tolerance and high availability.
You will work in a high performance team that has a track record for developing innovative voice server and client-side technologies using cross platform C++.
Qualifications:
Key requirements & attributes for successful applicants include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent;
- Minimum 2+ years of relevant professional experience, 6+ years for more senior levels;
- Strong C/C++ skills;
- Excellent knowledge of common networking protocols: IP, TCP, UDP, SSL, HTTP;
- Experience developing software on Windows and Linux;
- Demonstrable experience in developing multithreaded, client/server network applications;
- Demonstrable experience developing efficient (memory, CPU and bandwidth) software.
- Fast learner and solid problem solver
Further, the following will be viewed favourably from more senior candidates:
- Higher degrees (Masters or PhD);
- Experience in building highly scalable and resilient network appliances
- Knowledge of VoIP protocols such as SIP, SDP and RTP.
