We are looking to recruit a C/C++/QT Senior Software Engineer based in Wroclaw/Poland. This position will focus primarily on developing multimedia applications in software, operating on embedded platforms including mobile devices. As a Senior Software Engineer within the Broadcast Technology group, the candidate will develop and maintain components for different Dolby technologies. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with strong software engineering skills to get Dolby’s leading digital audio and video technologies into products. We expect the candidate to become a local expert on mobile phone operating systems.
As Senior Software Engineer – Mobile Applications, you will be part of the new engineering team in Wroclaw/Poland and work closely with other Dolby engineering entities in the US, Germany, China and Australia. You will cooperate cross globe with experts in relevant fields, requiring excellent oral and written English communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Design of Multimedia Applications operating on popular mobile phone operating systems.
- Taking on responsibility for the development and implementation of software that will integrate Dolby’s audio and video technologies into applications like media players operating on multiple platforms.
- Code management, integration with Dolby core code base.
- Understand and enforce rigorous “best practice” in software architecture, planning, and development, to ensure Dolby’s high quality standards.
- Produce specifications and documentation to accompany engineering deliverables.
Qualifications:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or comparable field.
- 1+ years relevant experience in mobile application development, 3+ years in SW development.
- Deep understanding of application development in QT framework
- Development for one of following operating systems would be advantageous: iOS (preferred), Android, Windows 8.
- Willingness to work with different technologies (iOS, Android, C, C++, Java,?.)
- Strong object oriented software design skills.
- Background in designing multimedia applications and an understanding of the underlying technologies (e.g. MPEG-4 audio/ video codecs, streaming, etc.) is an additional plus.
- Experience or exposure to developing optimized code for embedded processors used in mobile handsets such as ARM, Texas Instruments, etc. is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication in both general and technology-specific applications.
- Excellent verbal and written English language skills.
- Autonomous and proactive approach in delivering results.
